Privacy Policy
Welcome to the NSCA Certification Commission's Privacy Policy, the policy covering the www.nsca-cc.org Web site. This policy covers information collected by the NSCA Certification Commission (www.nsca-cc.org). Collection of Customer Information
Information is collected at the time of a sale in order to complete the sale and deliver the
products. Customer lists are never sold or distributed to third parties. NSCA-CC.org does use
customer lists to send solicitations, but only to those individuals who specifically indicate that
they would like to receive additional information about the NSCA Certification Commission and the
CSCS and NSCA-CPT certifications, or who register for an exam. Within each solicitation, an opt-out
option always exists. Visitors may request to opt-out of further promotional mailings by calling
888-746-2378 or e-mailing commission@nsca-cc.org.
Credit Card Transactions
Credit card transactions are processed by Authorize.net, a professional payment authorization service chosen for its security and reliability. Only the purchase price and the credit card information provided by the customer is supplied to Authorize.net. Information collected during transactions is maintained in their database for accounting and billing purposes. Information from these transactions is not released to third parties. NSCA-CC.org does not maintain a copy of the credit card information on its systems.
Children
NSCA-CC.org does not attempt to collect personal information from children. Children eighteen years of age and younger should not submit any information to the NSCA Certification Commission without the approval of their parent or guardian. Note that NSCA-CC.org cannot always determine that a user is a child. NSCA-CC.org does not maintain databases about children.
Web Site Log Files
Web site log files are generated that collect the IP Address of the visitor, date, time and pages visited. The Internet Protocol (IP) address is an address computers need to connect to the Internet. Much like a physical address and the mail system, there needs to be a way to deliver messages. The NSCA Certification Commission logs Web site visitors' IP addresses for the collection of aggregate information about the site visitors and their interests. Personal identifying information (name, address) will never be linked to the IP addresses collected.
Cookies
A cookie is information that a Web site puts on your computer so that it can remember something about you at a later time. More technically, it is information for future use that is stored by the server on the client side of a client/server communication. NSCA-CC.org utilizes cookies that are automatically discarded in about 24 hours. The Web store at www.nsca-cc.org uses cookies that keep track of items ordered. They are used so a user can shop and maintain a list of items in their "shopping cart" and have a total due calculated. A user does not have to supply any personal information unless they decide to complete an order and pay via credit card. These cookies are not used for any other purpose. For more information about cookies, consult your Web browser's help.
Cookies are commonly used to rotate the banner ads on a site so that it doesn't keep sending the same ad repeatedly. They can also be used to customize pages for you based on your browser type or other information you may have provided the Web site. Web users must agree to let cookies be saved for them, but, in general, it helps Web sites to serve users better Our Policy On No Third Party Downloads
No images, files, or cookies are downloaded from third party systems. This means no banner networks or hidden "web bugs" (images of size 1x1 pixel used to track users).
Mailing Lists
The NSCA Certification Commission collects contact information and e-mail addresses only from those who request our informational brochure or register for an exam online. Names and addresses are used to (1) process product or quiz orders, (2) complete registration procedures such as mailing exam admission letters to exam candidates and (3) fulfill specific requests made for more information. Periodically, additional informational material will be sent to those individuals who have asked for exam information in the past. These messages inform potential exam candidates of exams coming to their area or of special discounts on exam review materials or exam registration fees. Within a message, you always have the option to discontinue receiving any promotional information from the NSCA Certification Commission. The NSCA Certification Commission does not use phone solicitation.
The restrictions on the dissemination of personal information are not subject to change. The policy may be updated occasionally to reflect changes in the organization but the changes will not reduce the privacy protection of visitors. If there are changes made in the future, the changes will not affect information already collected. What Else Should I Know About Web Site Privacy?
When you disclose personal information online in a public area such as a chat room or bulletin board, be aware that the information you provide can be collected and used by others. In addition, the NSCA Certification Commission Web site contains links to Web sites that are not owned or operated by the NSCA Certification Commission. The NSCA Certification Commission is not responsible for the content or privacy policies of these sites.
