In February 2004, the NSCA Certification Commission earned recognition from QMI (Quality Management Institute) for having a quality management system that meets all the requirements of the ISO 9001:2000 standard. The structure of ISO 9001:2000 is based on eight quality management principles:
The registration audit examined every aspect of the quality management system to ensure that the NSCA Certification Commission is doing exactly what the standard requires and has developed a systematic approach to the development and maintenance of documentation pertaining to every element of its quality management system. "Achieving ISO 9001:2000 registration validates our commitment to a quality management system and should provide a sense of confidence among our customers," said Dr. Thomas Baechle, Executive Director of the NSCA Certification Commission.
