ISO 9001:2000 Registration

The NSCA Certification Commission, the certifying agency for the National Strength and Conditioning Association, is committed to setting the worldwide certification standard for strength & conditioning and personal training professionals. In February 2004, the NSCA Certification Commission earned recognition from QMI (Quality Management Institute) for having a quality management system that meets all the requirements of the ISO 9001:2000 standard.

The structure of ISO 9001:2000 is based on eight quality management principles:

  • Leadership
  • Customer focus
  • Continual improvement
  • Process approach
  • Involvement of people
  • System approach to management
  • Factual approach to decision-making
  • Mutually beneficial supplier relationships

The registration audit examined every aspect of the quality management system to ensure that the NSCA Certification Commission is doing exactly what the standard requires and has developed a systematic approach to the development and maintenance of documentation pertaining to every element of its quality management system.

"Achieving ISO 9001:2000 registration validates our commitment to a quality management system and should provide a sense of confidence among our customers," said Dr. Thomas Baechle, Executive Director of the NSCA Certification Commission.
