Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and NSCA-Certified Personal Trainer (NSCA-CPT) certificate holders now have the option to apply for the Recertified with Distinction designation through the NSCA Certification Commission's online CEU reporting system. The NSCA Certification Commission will record many of the CEUs that qualify toward the Recertified with Distinction requirements in the online CEU tracking system. This will allow certificate holders to check their eligibility for becoming Recertified with Distinction and complete the recertification process online. Certified individuals can easily track CEUs earned by attending or presenting at NSCA events, authoring articles for NSCA publications, participating on NSCA or NSCA Certification Commission committees, serving as host for NSCA exams or symposia, completing NSCA CEU Quizzes or Practice Exams and obtaining the second NSCA certification. Once a certificate holder has accumulated the required number of CEUs to become Recertified with Distinction, the online CEU tracking system will prompt the individual to report his or her CEUs and pay the appropriate fee. Please click here to view your certification summaries, which define how many CEUs are required, how many CEUs have been recorded and how many CEUs are still needed. The following steps are for individuals who would prefer to submit their CEUs through the mail: Step 1
Complete the standard CEU Reporting Form.
Step 2 Obtain a Recertified with Distinction application in one of the following ways:
Step 3
Record only NSCA and NSCA Certification Commission activities on the Recertified with Distinction application.
NOTE: There are no category requirements for the Recertified with Distinction program. Step 4 Record the number of CEUs awarded for each activity.
NOTE: You must accumulate 10.0 CEUs (12.0 CEUs if applying for both credentials) in order to qualify for Recertified with Distinction status. Step 5 Gather all supporting documentation for activities listed on the Recertified with Distinction application.
Step 6 Mail in the Recertified with Distinction application, supporting documentation and the appropriate application fee by December 31, 2008.
NOTE: The Recertified with Distinction application does not replace the standard CEU Reporting Form. Both forms must be completed within the reporting period, and both fees must be paid. The two forms may be sent in together, or the CEU Reporting Form may be submitted first. Documentation for standard recertification CEUs is not to be sent in with the standard CEU Reporting Form; however, photocopies of the documentation for Recertified with Distinction CEUs must accompany the Recertified with Distinction application.
The application fee is $25 if applying for Recertified with Distinction for one
credential or $40 if applying for Recertified with Distinction for both credentials.
